…is something I don’t know much about.  But my hope is to change that this Spring.  Our landscaping is non-existent and I’d like to at least fill up our front flower beds.  Here are the resources I’ll be checking out for inspiration and guidance.

Better Homes & Gardens – No Fuss Garden Plan

Better Homes & Garden – Vegetable Garden Plan

Better Homes & Garden – Garden Plans for Shady Spots – they also have one for full sun

Unknown Source – Bulb Planting Guide

Keeper of the Home – Vegetable Gardening for Beginners

Mother Nature Network – How to Start a Cutting Garden

Mother Nature Network – Get Your Vegetable Garden off to a Good Start

Mother Nature Network – Make Landscaping Butterfly Friendly

My plan is to start out slow and eventually fill up a couple spots in our yard.  I have a feeling it’ll be a lot of trial and error, but hopefully these resources will help!  22 days until Spring!

fayetteville, ar – surprisingly awesome

I’ve lived in Fayetteville, AR for almost 8 years now.  We love living here and we’ve found that there is no other place quite like it.  Here are some of our favorite places/things to do in the area, just in case you ever find yourself in these parts.

Lake Fayetteville

Has a paved 5.5 mile trail and a 6.9 mile nature trail.  Also has an 18 hole disc golf course.

Wilson Park

wilson park

Near downtown, has a 1-mile loop, pool, playground, and tennis courts.

The Square/Farmer’s Market

farmers market

Otherwise known as our “downtown”, has a bunch of local shops and restuarants.  The farmer’s market is held at the square every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from the Spring through the Fall with live music and lots of vendors.

Dickson Street

SC85241 02

Great restaurants and bars.  If you “go out” on a Friday or Saturday night, this is where you go.

Mt. Sequoyah

mount sequoyah

Mt. Sequoyah is privately owned and used for conferences and retreats.  It has trails & lodging but also one of the best views of Fayetteville, especially in the fall.

Gator Golf

gator golf

Gator Golf, simply put…rocks.  $5/game.  You choose 1 of 2 courses.  It’s super fun and if you get a hole-in-one on the last hole you get a coupon for a free game!

Mt. Kessler

Probably our favorite hiking spot.  If you walk only about a mile in you get to a great look out.  The trail goes on for miles.

And here are our favorite restaurants:

Best BBQ – Whole Hog

Best Pizza – Gusano’s

Best Formal Restaurant – Memaids

Best Burgers – Feltner Brothers

Best All-Around Food – Common Grounds

common grounds

Best Pasta – Pesto Cafe

Best Breakfast – Stone Mill

I was going to list my favorite things to order at all these, but I thought that may be excessive.  Contact me if you want to know.  😉

One of my favorite things about Fayetteville is that if the weather is nice you can spend minimal money and still have a fun day.  With the trails, parks, and downtown it’s easy to just walk around and take in the sights.  If you live anywhere around Fayetteville I strongly advise visiting!

smash book update 2.20

I recently finished my second smash book.  Here were the last couple pages.

These layouts include magazine cutouts, a napkin I doodled on while waiting for my niece to be born, pictures, and smash pad tear-outs.

I liked the last page too much to put anything on it.

Then I started my 3rd smash book, it’s the green one and the pages are probably my favorite.  I liked the front page on this one too, so I left it bare.

I’ve only done a couple spreads and here they are.

In these I had a newspaper cutout, ticket, menu, smash pad tear-out, and more crud from magazines.

So here are all 3 of my Smash Books thus far.

And my supplies haven’t changed at all except for maybe a few stickers courtesy of Mike.

For more Smash Book inspiration you can check out my previous posts here, here, and here!
